Pollution Control Strategy

Appoquinimink River Association and Appoquinimink Tributary Action Team’s , Recommended Appoquinimink Pollution Control Strategy, March 25, 2005 (pdf 37K)

The original Tributary Action Team for the Appoquinimink Watershed drafted recommendations to the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) that would aid in meeting established water quality standards. These recommendations included ways to reduce water pollution from stormwater, ways to manage open space and land use, and various ways to educate watershed residents. DNREC has since reviewed and commented on these recommendations, and they estimate that they will publish the final documents, called Pollution Control Strategies, in 2008. The original recommendations made by the Tributary Action Team and the published Pollution Control Strategies will serve as a guide to the Appoquinimink River Association ’s mission to preserve, protect, and enhance the rivers and related natural resources in our local area.
